Enterprise Financing Scheme

Enterprise Financing Scheme is an umbrella term for all the different financing options offered by the Government of Singapore through Enterprise Singapore. The goal of the scheme is to enable banks and lending institutions to provide business loans to Singapore-based businesses based on minimal eligibility criteria. Further, risk-sharing by Enterprise Singapore ensures that banks and lenders do not have to worry about writing off bad loans, as the percentage of the loan amount marked as the risk-share will be paid off by Enterprise Singapore.

Licensed banks and lenders in Singapore can offer the loans based on their affiliation with Enterprise Singapore.

There are six broad types of business loans offered under the Enterprise Financing Scheme. They are as follows:

• Working Capital Loan for SME

  This is a type of business loan offered to help with instant cashflow needs and working capital for business operations.
  

• Fixed Assets Loan for SME

  For businesses seeking the financing for investment in fixed assets such as machines, equipment, business space, etc.
  

• Trade Loan

  The trade loan is a type of business loan targeting businesses that need financing for inventory, bill of invoice, AR discounting, etc.
  

• Venture Debit Loan

  A special type of business loan offered to startups with potential, currently on a growth track, seeking business expansion, but do not have collateral.
  

• Mergers & Acquisitions Loan

  This business loan is offered purely to support the acquisition of local or overseas businesses as part of business growth activity.
  

• Project Loan

  The project loan is a type of business loan offered to finance domestic projects for construction companies in addition to overseas projects.
